2017 Blessing Bowl archives

Equinox & Rosh Hashanah Blessings

God let there be awareness
where ignorance now prevails.
Scatter our long hidden fears
with your bright beam of courage.
And knit fine cloaks of your love
to shelter us and the world.

On this full moon, the blessing bowl
Is illuminated, not diminished by,
One who has floated out of the bowl
To another shore entirely.

See in her altar
The silver hair clips of her beauty,
The small satchels, books and birds
She gifted me on the long journey of global friendship.

For all of us who outlive
The death of a dear one like this,
Let us recommit
To kindness and compassion.

Mercy for one another
Who keep watch on suffering.
Let us embrace our duty gladly
Without constricting our own health or essence.

You are receiving this because you or someone you love- perhaps an animal- is afloat in the blessing bowl here at Centering Porch. Some of you have been here for months. You are in good company.
Everyone is named in the large celadon bowl. Additionally, in the smaller bowl, there is a bead for each animal currently receiving healing energy treatments.
Everyday I say a little prayer to buoy all of us.  When the words don’t arise, I read them from the book shown here. Prayers for Healing, 365 Blessings, Poems, and Meditations edited by Maggie Oman. Here is today’s:

There is a force within that gives you life – seek that.
In your body there lies a priceless jewel – seek that.
Oh, wandering Sufi,
if you are in search of the greatest treasure, don’t look outside,
Look within, and seek That.
Rumi
Translated by Jonathan Star

If you no longer wish to be afloat in the bowl, just let me know. Perhaps you like floating but prefer no emails. Simply tell me.
Namaste,
nan
